Compression stockings, also referred to as TED (ThromboEmbolic Deterrent) stockings are a type of stockings that provide compression to the foot/leg to improve circulation and assist in alleviating circulation related issues. They are indicated in swelling of the foot/leg, for varicose veins and spider veins.

Compression stockings are recommended by a medical doctor after a careful assessment of your situation and needs.

There are several criteria that needs to be considered before a compression stocking is recommended to a patient. These criteria are Design, Fit, Compression Strength, and Size. All four criteria have to be addressed in order to determine the appropriate stocking to best meet your needs.

Compression stockings are usually worn during the day and are removed at night when going to bed (unless otherwise advised by your doctor).
